Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. ~Marc Brown

A little background... Kyle's sister Lindsay had cancer when she was a child and the chemo did a number on her kidney and her heart.  This past summer (2010) Lindsay was officially put on the kidney transplant list.

As soon as Kyle found out he started getting tested. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his sister. The Friday before our baby girl was born Kyle got the news that he was approved and the surgery would take place four weeks after the birth of our first child, almost to the day.  I know when she gets old enough to understand what her daddy did for his sister she will be filled with pride (like I am today) and realize what a superhero her dad really is.
The surgery was a huge success and both Lindsay and Kyle are doing wonderful.

A Whole New World

The day our daughter was born a new world began for us.  Life as we knew it would never be the same and we began the wonderful roller coaster ride of parenthood.  Life could not be more sweet (and crazy).

Returning to Where it All Began...

A year ago in April Kyle and I returned to live in the city we grew up, met and fell in love in.  It had been 10 years since we lived in our hometown.  We were so sad to leave all of our amazing friends in NYC and the magical city itself but were excited for the new adventure we were about to begin.  Oh and we were excited to be back with all of our family and friends too.

My mom flew up to NYC and the two of us piled luggage and two dogs into the smallest car possible and made our way back to Texas.  We knew we were getting close when we started seeing Dairy Queens.
