Dallas is 13 months old! She is still very active and loves anything that involves running and laughing. She has added to her vocabulary Daizzzyyy (which is now usually her first word when she wakes up), Nana (for both bananas and Granna), Dayyas (her name) and nigh nigh (bedtime). Life is sweet.

Kidneyversary
Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of Lindsay & Kyle's kidney transplant. It is amazing how much life has changed since then. Lindsay is in school pursuing her nursing degree and raising her two incredible boys. She has such a positive and wonderful outlook on life and has been living it to its fullest. Lindsay amazes me. I am so lucky to be able to call her my sister.
We went out with Lindsay and the boys to celebrate the big day and had a great time!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!
It's starting to look a lot like Christmas at the Dux. The tree is up and slowly getting decorated, wreath on the front door, temporary Christmas stockings hung until our new ones arrive and we are eaglery awaiting our first Christmas card of the season to display. Dallas has worn a Christmas outfit every day since Thanksgiving and Kyle wanted to know exactly how many Christmas themed pajamas I planned on buying for her. I am a total cheeseball when it comes to Christmas, Kyle not so much. He actually tried to convince me that it was too early to start playing Christmas music... wrong.

Thanksgiving Fun
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Dallas is at an age where she is really starting to be able to interact with her cousins and it is so fun to watch! I can tell that she is going to worship the ground Emerson & Nicole walk on and Kyle and I are trying to figure out a way to get Matthew to move to Dallas and be her "Manny" (man nanny), she is totally in love with him. Not surprising she was a little too excited to help Grayson eat his puffs.

Be Thankful and say so to Him! Psalm 100:4
Thanksgiving coming up has me thinking of how many things I have to be thankful for. When I think about all of my many blessings I am truly overwhelmed.
I am thankful for everything little thing about this girl. Her laugh, her smile, her gap between the two front teeth coming in, her rowdy personality, her kisses, her hugs, her love for green beans and the shockingly fast rate she eats them, her chubby thighs and chubby cheeks, the way she screams if you try to take her out of her daddy's arms.
I am thankful that my new little girl is growing strong in my belly and being very active to let us know that she is happy.
I am thankful for my husband and the happiness he brings to my life.

Dallas First Birthday Party
Two Sunday's ago we celebrated Dallas' First Birthday. She is one very loved little girl with over 65 family members and friends coming out to celebrate her big day. It was a Cowgirl themed party and of course this meant we had to rent a pink pony. Over the top? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Thank you to everyone who came out to share in the big celebration.

ONE YEAR OLD... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!
Dallas loves to... Be held by anyone, especially strangers. The other day I had to pry her out of the hands of a lady at the grocery store, this is a regular occurrence. Give open mouth kisses, hopefully this isn't a look into her teen years ;). Run and hide from you and then jump out to "scare" you. Eat mashed potatoes, green peas, carrots and lemons! Climb on anything she can, even if it means a few bumps and bruises. Eat acorns. Seriously she is obsessed. Sesame Street and Cops (thanks to daddy). Play hard and love hard. Lay on Cooter's dog bed with him and pat his back. Say “WASsss Tha” in a whisper. ride on Daddy’s shoulders. Put valuable things in the trash and then take it out and then put it back in. chew on her food and then try to feed it to you (she loves to share). Always have her tongue out (something she has done since 2 minutes after her birth… See 0:26 in video below). BE tickled and tickle you back. Play with daddy and cuddle with mommy.
"Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were here an hour I would give my life for you. This is the miracle of life. ~ Maureen Hawkins"
To Our Dearest Dallas,
A year ago today the Lord made us mommy and daddy. It is a gift greater than we could have ever imagined or dreamed and are deserving of. You have changed our lives and we will never be the same. You make us strive to be a better people so that you are as proud of us as we are of you. Our love for you knows no bounds. We love when you wake us up with wet slobbery kisses, say momma and dadda, put your head on our shoulder, "chase" us, give us your big open mouthed smile, when you are just being you. Thank you for letting us share in your sweet, special and funny life.
With all the love in the world,
Mommy & Daddy

11 Months
Dallas turned 11 months 2 weeks ago (almost). Time really is flying by and this girl is growing up way too fast for mom and dad.
Dallas walks and runs with ease now. Her favorite game is still chase and she loves a good opportunity to jump out behind something and "scare" you. She loves to give kisses (still open mouth only) and thinks that big kids are the most amazing things she has ever seen. The other day when I turned the bath water on she walked over grabbed her chair she sits in and put it in the bath for me. Moms jaw dropped. When I asked her where Dallas was she patted her chest. Moms jaw dropped. When we went to the park she climbed up the stairs and down the stairs all by herself. Moms jaw dropped. Moms jaw is dropping a lot these days. She continues to amaze us and bring such joy to our lives.

Vacation
A few weeks ago I took the week of to hang out with Dallas while my mom was off on her Sisters on the Fly Roadtrip. Our week was filled with playdates, parks, pumpkins and a few projects I have been putting of FOREVER!
Dallas & Eloise LOVED the arboretum & pumpkins
Mom reupholstered chairs (after is on the left side)
And we ended the week with a good old fashion day at the park with Dad

How sweet is Eloise? She looks like a doll in person and in pictures!
Dallas tried to go home with another family...
Dallas mastered the art of climbing while helping mom organize her new closet (and she still loves to play with toilet paper as you can see from the pictures)
We played with our friends River & Flora and had a BLAST!

She didn't want to leave the park...
And later she let me know she was still upset about it :)
